How to Avoid Mistakes When Buying a Speaker: Key Factors Are Power and Battery

Latest company news about How to Avoid Mistakes When Buying a Speaker: Key Factors Are Power and Battery

1. Power: Focus on rated power first—it refers to the actual power a speaker can continuously output without sound distortion. Be cautious of peak power listed by sellers, which is the maximum power a speaker can reach in an instant. This figure is irrelevant for practical reference and often exaggerated to mislead buyers. For example, most small portable Bluetooth speakers range from 10W to 40W. Any small-sized speaker claiming to have hundreds or even thousands of watts is definitely misstating its power.

2. Battery: Watch out for tricks involving voltage conversion. Take a 12V-powered speaker as an example: it usually uses 3 3.7V, 3500mAh batteries connected in series, so its actual usable capacity is 3500mAh. But sellers may add up the capacities of the three batteries and label it as 10500mAh. You can roughly tell if the battery capacity is misstated by checking how many batteries the speaker has.

When shopping for a speaker, pay close attention to these two parameters to avoid falling for sellers' misleading tactics.
